What is ECG?

An ECG (Electrocardiogram) is a test that records the heart's electrical activity over time using electrodes placed on the skin. It is used to assess the heart's function and detect abnormalities.

What ECG Detects:

  • Heart rhythm problems: Arrhythmias like atrial fibrillation or tachycardia.
  • Heart attacks: Ongoing or past myocardial infarction.
  • Ischemia: Reduced blood flow to the heart.
  • Structural issues: Heart enlargement or hypertrophy.
  • Electrolyte imbalances: Abnormal potassium or calcium levels.
  • Conduction problems: Delays or blocks in electrical pathways.
